Dear ASA Members,
We are still seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join the ASA’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equity in Astronomy (IDEA) Chapter Steering Committee for the 2025–2026 term.
Extended deadline: Monday, 13 October 2025 (COB)
We welcome nominations for the following positions:
* 1 Deputy Chair
* 1 Student Member
* 5 Committee Members (open to all levels, academic and professional)
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of equity, diversity, and inclusion in Australian astronomy. We especially encourage ECRs and individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.

Statement (max. two pages) addressing:

The committee meets monthly (occasionally fortnightly, depending on activities) for 60 minutes, and more frequently every second year to evaluate Pleiades Award applications.

Dear ASA Members,
The ASA’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equity in Astronomy (IDEA) Chapter is seeking enthusiastic and committed candidates to join our Steering Committee for a two-year term starting in 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Australian astronomy community.
We are inviting nominations for the following positions:

1 Deputy Chair
*
1 Student Member
*
5 Committee Members (open to all levels, academic and professionals)
We welcome nominations from across the community, and we particularly encourage Early Career Researchers to apply. Candidates may be from either professional or academic backgrounds and should be a member of, or employed by, an ASA member organisation.
We strongly encourage participation from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people from diverse faith, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ identified professionals.
We also encourage nominations that reflect the geographical diversity of astronomy across Australia.
Nomination deadline: COB Tuesday, 30 September 2025
Election period (if required): 13–17 October 2025
