Nominations are now open for the 2026 Berenice and Arthur Page Medal awarded for excellence in amateur astronomy.
The prize is awarded every two years by the Astronomical Society of Australia (ASA) for scientific contributions by an amateur astronomer that have served to advance astronomy.
The award is open to amateur astronomers, defined as someone who does not use the field of astronomy as their primary source of income and does not have a professional degree or advanced academic training in astronomy.
An email has gone out to all Australian amateur societies calling for nominations, and please feel free to share with your networks too.
The closing date for nominations is Friday 25 November, 2025.
The winner will be announced at the National Australian Convention of Amateur Astronomers (NACAA), to be held 3-5 April 2026 in Tamworth and hosted by the Tamworth Regional Astronomical Club (TRAC). The winner will be presented with their Medal and receive an Honorary Associate membership of the ASA.
Nominations should be sent to Dr Tanya Hill, ASA Prizes and Awards Coordinator, via email: thill at museum.vic.gov.au<mailto:thill at museum.vic.gov.au>
