Hi all,
The JWST Australian Data Centre (JADC) team, with support from the Australian Space Agency, will be running a workshop on JWST data reduction from Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th November 2025 at Swinburne University, Melbourne.
The purpose of the workshop is to equip researchers in Australia to make the most of the James Webb Space Telescope, with a focus on familiarising people with JWST data products and the data reduction pipeline.
A preliminary outline of the program is:
* Wednesday 5th Nov (half day with midday start):
Overview of the instruments, the JWST data archive (the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes; MAST) and the software needed for data reduction (python).
* Thursday 6th Nov (full day)
Hands-on session working through examples of reducing archival JWST observations.
* Friday 7th Nov (half day with midday end)
Continued hands-on work with JWST data reduction.
If you would like to attend, please register here by Sunday 31st August:

The registration form will ask which instruments and modes are of interest, so we can try to best utilise the short time available. Given the hands-on nature of the workshop, the event will be held face-to-face.
Thanks to generous support from the Australian Space Agency, we have limited funding to provide travel support for students and early career researchers. If you require travel support please register as soon as possible so we can try to accommodate as many people as possible.
If you have any questions you can reach out to me on tbarone at swin.edu.au<mailto:tbarone at swin.edu.au> or the team at jadc at swin.edu.au<mailto:jadc at swin.edu.au>.
Kind regards,
Tania Barone
