Not exactly astronomy news, but worth relaying the following email I think:
As you may know, … Robyn Williams will on August 30 celebrate 50 years of broadcasting The Science Show.
The show began in 1975 at the 13th Pacific Science Congress in Vancouver. Robyn and his team have covered some amazing science stories and features, from highlighting the forgotten work of female scientists to celebrating incredible Australian discoveries and inventions.
The ABC is celebrating the show’s 50th year with an event at ABC Ultimo on Wednesday, August 27.
There will also be a special program on Radio National at 12pm on Saturday, August 30 to celebrate exactly 50 years since the first show: https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/LBnTCXLW2mUOQVD8zh6fWsWgKh0?domain=abc.net.au
The program will include archival audio from the past 50 years and look at what has changed over those 50 years. Robyn Williams will highlight forestry, asbestos, hoaxes and feature David Attenborough over the one-hour program.
Congratulations to the ABC and Robyn Williams for an outstanding 50 years of contributions to science in Australia.
