[ASA] CARTA showcase event 8th October, 2024

Dear ASA community,

On Tuesday October 8th, the week after the Radio School<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/AglYCYW8NockOv3GQT0cskt?domain=atnf.csiro.au>, the Australian SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) is holding a showcase event for CARTA, the Cube Analysis and Rendering Tool for Astronomy, in hybrid format via WebEx, and in the CSIRO Auditorium of the ARRC building in Perth. CARTA is a next-generation image visualisation and analysis software tool that is scalable to big data in the era of the SKA and its precursors. It’s a very mature, feature-rich tool that is intuitive and user friendly, so it’s easy to learn via trial and error.

This showcase event is an opportunity to meet the developers, see the latest features and roadmap, and present your use cases and workflows. I’m inviting contributions from the ASA community to demonstrate how they use CARTA, or want to use CARTA, or even how they use another visualisation tool, such as DS9 or Kvis, and would like to be able to do in CARTA.
