Dear ASA members, friends and family,
You are all invited to attend a public event celebrating the scientific legacy of the ARC Centre of Excellence ASTRO 3D.
Don’t miss this incredible free event: “Our Universe – Piecing Together the Cosmic Puzzle” in Manly on June 5th!
Come along for a fascinating journey through the cosmos and learn intimate details about the Universe from different stages of its evolution.
Dr Jonathon Webb, ABC’s Science Editor, will introduce you to the next generation of astronomy leaders from ASTRO 3D, the Centre of Excellence in All-Sky Astrophysics in 3D:
* Dr. Nichole Barry (UNSW<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/k0aICr81nytw4Ml6vt76dT3?domain=facebook.com>) will take you back to the Epoch of Reionisation, near the very beginning of the Universe.
* Assoc/Prof Amanda Karakas (Monash Universit<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/vCPQCvl1rKiOr1z46CXkisI?domain=facebook.com>y) will reveal where you can find different elements being forged in the universe.
* Dr. Jesse van de Sande (UNSW<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/k0aICr81nytw4Ml6vt76dT3?domain=facebook.com>) will discuss the full history of the Milky Way galaxy, from its formation, evolution, and eventual fate.
Ask them about their discoveries and the remarkable telescopes they use.
Hear about the real-world impacts of their work.
And about careers in astronomy and after astronomy.
Limited tickets are available – grab yours now and be part of this cosmic exploration!
Suitable for engaged upper primary school students and up.
