Subject: [ASA] Town halls hosted by the theoretical astrophysics decadal plan working group
Dear ASA Members,
The Decadal Plan working group on theoretical astrophysics has scheduled a series of town hall meetings to solicit community input. Everyone is welcome to attend — not just theorists — and provide feedback to the working group. Town halls addressing various aspects of theoretical astrophysics are scheduled as follows:
* Cosmic rays and jets — Thursday, 21 March, 12:30 - 1:30 pm AEDT (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra/Hobart), 11:30 am - 12:30 pm AEST (Brisbane), 12 - 1 pm ACDT (Adelaide), 9:30 - 10:30 am AWST (Perth)
* Cosmology and astroparticle physics (jointly hosted with the extragalactic and cosmology working group) — Monday, 25 March, 1 - 2 pm AEDT (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra/Hobart), 12 - 1 pm AEST (Brisbane), 12:30 - 1:30 pm ACDT (Adelaide), 10 - 11 am AWST (Perth)
* Stars, planets, and supernovae (jointly hosted with the stars, planets, and Milky Way working group) — Wednesday, 3 April, 1 - 2 pm AEDT (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra/Hobart), 12 - 1 pm AEST (Brisbane), 12:30 - 1:30 pm ACDT (Adelaide), 10 - 11 am AWST (Perth)
* Workforce and employment — Friday, 19 April, 2 - 3 pm AEST (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra/Brisbane/Hobart), 1:30 - 2:30 pm ACST (Adelaide), 12 - 1 pm AWST (Perth)
* Galaxies, ISM, and star formation — Monday, 22 April, 12 - 1 pm AEST (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra/Brisbane/Hobart), 11:30 am - 12:30 pm ACST (Adelaide), 10 - 11 am AWST (Perth)
* High performance computing and simulations — Tuesday, 23 April, 2 - 3 pm AEST (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra/Brisbane/Hobart), 1:30 am - 2:30 pm ACST (Adelaide), 12 - 1 pm AWST (Perth)
All town halls will be conducted on zoom, on the following link: https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/eO2zC91WPRTRkABy7ToahJl?domain=anu.zoom.us.
