ICRAR/UWA Research Training Program Out-of-round PhD Scholarship Applications

The University of Western Australia (UWA)<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/J7LVC71R2NTmDw0ELu8SdmJ?domain=aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com> node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR)<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/J7LVC71R2NTmDw0ELu8SdmJ?domain=aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com> invites applications for a fully-funded Research Training Program (RTP<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/yFhBC81V0PTjoEAO9t1hkqg?domain=aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com>) PhD scholarship for domestic students (Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen) to start in mid-2023. This scholarship can be undertaken in any of the research areas at ICRAR UWA, with a full list of currently-available postgraduate projects found here<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/X-m_C91WPRTmGD6R8u3owmX?domain=aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com>.

ICRAR is one of Australia’s top astronomical research institutes. Established in 2009 as a high profile equal joint venture between Curtin University and UWA, ICRAR is a leading organization in the international Square Kilometre Array project.

ICRAR/UWA hosts a vibrant and friendly research environment where PhD students carry out cutting-edge projects in observational and theoretical astrophysics, often including work in "Big Data" methodologies and technologies. The RTP PhD scholarship, covers tuition fees, living allowance support and research/travel expenses. Applicants are requested to send a 1-page cover letter including proposed project, a CV, academic transcripts, and a copy of their masters or bachelor thesis, to phd_uwa at icrar.org by Friday 17th March 2023. Applicants are also requested to arrange for two reference letters to be sent to phd_uwa at icrar.org by the deadline. Importantly, applicants are only deemed eligible for the award of an RTP scholarship if they have a combined thesis plus coursework WAM average mark of above 75%.
