[ASA] ADACS Merit Allocation Scheme - EoIs now being accepted

Do you face demanding computing challenges that you could use some advice or assistance with?

The ADACS Merit Allocation Program (MAP) represents an opportunity for any Australian astronomer to secure bespoke training in skills related to software development &/or dedicated design or development effort from skilled software engineers, to accelerate or extend the capabilities of their research program.

Expressions of interest (EoIs) for the program are now being accepted.

An essential feature of the program is its initial consultation and audit process.  This is particularly necessary to retire risks inherent to projects with limited previous ADACS engagement.  Resources have been allocated to conduct code & project audits in the lead-up to the next proposal deadline (a few months from now).  These resources are limited and will be allocated on first-come-first-serve and needs bases.

We strongly encourage researchers presently contemplating engaging the ADACS MAP to do so at the earliest possible convenience.


Submitting an EoI is easy.  Send a 1 page pdf to map at adacs.org.au<https://mailto:%20map@adacs.org.au> with the following:

  1.  a clear indication of whether you are interested in training or software support;
  2.  Project Background: a brief (~1 paragraph) statement about the project's scientific background; and
  3.  Project Goals: a concise plain-language description of the problem you are seeking help with (note: we don't seek suggested solutions or implementation details at this point).
