Dear all,

As previously advertised, ACAMAR - the Australia-ChinA ConsortiuM for Astrophysical Research - are sponsoring an online workshop on “Radio Astronomy from the Moon”, from 28-30 July 2021.

We understand that there has been some problems with the conference website and that some people may have been unable to register and submit abstracts. We believe that these problems have now been fixed, so if you have previously tried to register/submit an abstract please try again.

We have extended the abstract submission deadline to 21 June 2021.

Suggested topics are listed below, but we encourage new ideas, concepts and works in progress, so please consider giving a talk, it may stimulate discussion and be the catalyst for new collaborations.

The workshop website is: https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/NKq-CxngwOf1ZEyAQi8yRnf?domain=ram2021.casconf.cn

If you have any problems registering or have any questions at all about the workshop please contact me (ben.mckinley at curtin.edu.au), I’m here to help!

Suggested topics:

  - Ultra-low frequency radio astronomy (1-30 MHz), theory and proposed observations
  - 21-cm cosmology (theory and observations), including both global signal and power spectrum
  - Observational mission proposals and ideas for both the Moon's surface and lunar orbit
  - Radio-frequency interference environment
  - Solar and planetary science
  - Synergies with other disciplines (e.g. lunar geology)
  - High energy particle/cosmic ray science
  - Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence
  - Engineering topics including optical communications, mission design etc.
  - Potential synergies with commercial lunar exploration and industry

Lunar Regards,

Ben McKinley

We strongly encourage talk submissions from Chinese and Australian astronomers on any topics related to doing radio astronomy from the Moon or lunar orbit. These include, but are not limited to:

  - Ultra-low frequency radio astronomy (1-30 MHz), theory and proposed observations
  - 21-cm cosmology (theory and observations), including both global signal and power spectrum
  - Observational mission proposals and ideas for both the Moon's surface and lunar orbit
  - Radio-frequency interference environment
  - Solar and planetary science
  - Synergies with other disciplines (e.g. lunar geology)
