Dear all
This Tuesday 24th Nov. at 4pm AEDT the Twinkle team will be giving a 1 hour Seminar (+30min for questions) on the upcoming Twinkle Space Telescope launching in 2024.
The Twinkle satellite is a 0.45m telescope with a spectrograph covering 0.5 – 4.5 microns. The Seminar will cover the details of the Twinkle space telescope mission, the development status of the instrumentation as well as planned surveys and the opportunities for Australian astronomers to be on the science teams.
The team have recently changed the access model to be part of the science team and access the data. This change has made it easier, with sufficient interest, to investigate various funding options for Australian involvement including through AAL (and traditional ARC routes).
USQ has already joined, but we are very keen to gauge (and increase!) Australian interest in this facility including for the solar system bodies survey, the exoplanetary survey, or any other suitable science. Twinkle provides an excellent opportunity to give Australian astronomers guaranteed access to space-based optical and infra-red spectroscopy.
If you would like to attend you can register through the following link:

Yours sincerely,
Duncan
