Public talks by Linda Spilker, Cassini Project Scientist

Next week, the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS) is hosting a visit to Australia by Dr Linda Spilker, a planetary scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Linda has participated in NASA and international planetary missions for over 40 years, but is best known for her role as Project Scientist for the Cassini mission, which revolutionised our understanding of Saturn, its rings and its moons.

Linda will give two public talks on Cassini’s intriguing discoveries during her visit. The first will be the 2019 Allison Levick Lecture, which will be co-hosted by AAO Macquarie and DIIS, and held at the Macquarie Theatre, Macquarie University on Monday 18 November. Doors open 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. Admission is free, but booking at this website is essential:

On Tuesday 19 November, Linda will speak at Questacon in Canberra. This is a free lunchtime presentation in Questacon’s Japan Theatre at 12.30 pm. Once again, booking is essential at this website:
