Astronomy Supercomputer Time Allocation Committee

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: ASTAC2018-B

** The current call for proposals closes at 5 pm (AEDT) Monday 11th June 2018. **





The Astronomy Supercomputer Time Allocation call for proposals for Q3-Q4 2018 is now open. The Deadline for this call is 5pm (AEDT) Monday 11th June 2018.


Within this call we have over 5 million service units (or CPU-core-hours) available to allocate to the astronomy community on national supercomputing facilities. This includes allocations for CPU-only and GPU-specific applications.



The following resources are available:

  1.  NCI Astronomy Flagship Program: up to 1,000 kSUs (CPU only)
  2.  OzSTAR: up to 2,000 kSUs (CPU or GPU)
  3.  Pawsey Magnus: up to 1,000 kSUs (CPU only)
  4.  Pawsey Zeus: up to 1,000 kSUs (CPU only)
  5.  Pawsey Nimbus (GPU only)

 Please see the attached information sheet for more information, including how to apply, noting that applications are via an online process for this round.


ASTAC is formed by Astronomy Australia Limited (AAL) and the ASTAC process is managed by Astronomy Data and Computing Services (ADACS).
