Dear colleagues,
Our upcoming ITSO Observational Techniques Workshop from 30 April - 3
May 2018 (register here
<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/ez8ECBNZwLiz15omIz3EvX?domain=aao.gov.au>)
will include an introduction to the Very Large Telescope Interferometer
(VLTI) and its use, but those in our community who would like more
extensive training may wish to attend this summer school. Don't forget
that ESO proposals for Period 102 (Oct 2018 - Mar 2019) are due
*Wednesday 28 March 2018* at noon Central European Summer Time (9pm

_*9TH VLTI SUMMER SCHOOL - LISBON 9th TO 14th JULY 2018*_
By combining the light from four telescopes, the European Southern
Observatory Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) delivers angular
resolution at milli-arcsecond scale and astrometry at tens of
micro-arcsecond. The available instrumentation covers the H to N-band
with low to moderately high spectral resolution.
Given that long-baseline optical interferometry observing techniques are
still not widespread in the community VLTI schools are periodically
organized. The next school will take place the 9^th to 14^th July in Lisbon.
The school will provide practical hands-on training on observational
programme preparation, data reduction and analysis.
Full lodging and subsistence costs will be provided to all attendees.
Travel funding can be provided in justified cases.

Funding for this school is provided by OPTICON -- Optical Infrared
Coordination Network for Astronomy, from the European Union's Horizon
2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 730890.
Best Regards,
Mercedes Filho (Chair of the LOC) & Paulo Garcia (Chair of SOC)
