The Selection Committee of the Andrei Sakharov Prize is actively seeking
the nominations of scientists having demonstrated outstanding leadership
or achievement in upholding human rights.

Named in recognition of the courageous efforts of Andrei Sakharov on
behalf of human rights, this Prize offered by the American Physical
Society consists of $10,000 and an allowance for travel to the meeting
of the Society at which the Prize will be presented.

Detailed information on the eligibility and the nomination procedure can
be found on the APS honors webpage

It is important to remember the membership of APS is diverse and global,
so the Prize and Award winners of the APS should reflect that diversity.
Nominations of women, members of underrepresented minority groups, and
scientists from outside the United States are especially encouraged.

You are kindly invited to forward this information to anyone interested.
Please note that the nomination deadline is July 1, 2015.

Thank you for your assistance.
