Rhodes Scholars in Australia Scholarship

Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) in Chemical Microreactors
Open to candidate to undertake 3-year full-time postgraduate research in
Chemical Engineering leading to a PhD; applicants must have Hon 1 or Hon 2I
in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or in Physical Chemistry, or
equivalent experience; enthusiasm, excellent written and oral communication
skills and ability to work in an international team environment will be
highly valued; successful applicant must commence their studies in the 2nd
Semester, 2003; 3 years @ $30,000 pa; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

2003 Postgraduate Scholarship in Law
Available to exemplary and needy law student, subject to the availability
of funds, who enrols in a postgraduate program at the Faculty of Law,
University of Sydney, with preference given to full-time research degree
candidates; 1 year @ $10,000, no other entitlements; will be tenable from
the commencement of Semester 2, 2003.

PhD Student in Food Science
Open to PhD student to undertake a project aimed at investigating the
molecular structure and physico-chemical properties of protein-carbohydrate
products for characterisation of these products and design of new
film-forming materials; the project will be undertaken in Werribee,
Victoria; 3 years @ $25,000 pa; preference will be given to Australian
residents.

Postgraduate Travel Award for Canadian Studies
Up to 3 grants are available to students enrolled in Masters and Doctoral
degrees at Australian and New Zealand universities to undertake a short

A$2,800 for travel to and within Canada and for sustenance en route.

Zealand Graduate Student Thesis/Dissertation Scholarship
Open to postgraduate students in the social sciences and humanities who are
in the process of preparing a graduate thesis or doctoral dissertation
related research in the field of Canadian Studies to spend 4-6 weeks at a
Canadian university; to provide access to crucial scholarly information and

3 scholarships for young Australians aged 18-24 (no older than 24 years on
11 July 2003) to spend up to 4 weeks in the UK; A$10,000; includes economy
travel to and from the UK and accommodation and living costs for the period
that the scholar is in the UK; additional spending money (apart from living
costs) is not included; must be completed by December 2003; applicants must
be Australia citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
