APAI on the Development of New Carrier Technologies for Spray-Dried Fruit 
Extracts
Open to candidates with Honours 1 or 2A degree in engineering, chemistry, 
physics or pharmaceutical science; research project aims to develop new 
carrier techniques for spray drying fruit extracts based on the use of 
natural fibres; experience/background in both experimental studies and 
mathematical modelling would be an advantage; 3 years for a PhD at $23,294 
pa; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents 
or New Zealand citizens.

Postgraduate Award in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Open to candidates with first class honours degree or equivalent in 
Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science/Engineering for a PhD; research in 
the area of theoretical computational condensed matter physics; willingness 
to embark on complex numerical calculations including work on parallel 
computers; 3 years for a PhD at $18,009 pa; applicants must be Australian 
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Pharmacy (Respiratory Science)
Open to candidates with good honours degree in chemistry, pharmacy or a 
related science discipline to undertake research studies leading to a MSc 
in Pharmacy, with the possibility of an extension to a PhD for one 
additional year; $20,000 pa; project is to investigate the radiolabelling 
of pharmaceutical aerosol inhalers; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

The Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Memorial Foundation Research Scholarships
Open to candidates who are either medically qualified or science graduates 
who are or will be enrolled for a higher university degree; research in 
Otorhinolaryngology or related fields of biomedical science; up to 3 years; 
tenable in Australian or New Zealand institutions; NH&MRC Medical/Dental 
Scholarship rate for medical graduates (currently $26,782 pa) or the Dora 
Lush Scholarship rate for science graduates (currently $18,009 pa); 
supplementary allowance and travel of up to $7,500 pa.
