Dear Friends of Classics and Ancient History,
I’m emailing now just to alert you to the launch of Tom Geue’s new book, Major Corrections: An Intellectual Biography of Sebastiano Timpanaro. I’ve almost finished the book and it’s been amazing to see Tom’s wide and deep knowledge of Timpanaro shed light on the imbrications of Timpanaro the bona fide polymath and Classical philologist, on the one hand, and Timpanaro the radical activist and commentator, on the other. The things that drive Timpanaro resonate a great deal with the work and agenda of Classical Studies and Tom’s deft and beautifully written book provides an enjoyable and fascinating journey through the tumult that was 20th century Italian politics to boot. I can’t recommend it more highly.
It'd be great if any of you can come to celebrate the book and enjoy some drinks and discussion next week when it is launched at Gleebooks, Glebe. It takes place next Thursday, April 10 at 6:30pm. You can see more details and RSVP here: https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/HeqlCNLJyQUMgo5wVFmfPcyMTmi?domain=gleebooks.com.au<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/HeqlCNLJyQUMgo5wVFmfPcyMTmi?domain=gleebooks.com.au>I’ll be there to attend the book launched by Frances Muecke, Tristan Bradshaw and Andrew Brooks.
Come along for a drink and a chat, if you can!
All the best,
Ben
