Research Scholarships

ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre, Ph.D Scholarships, Centre for
3 full time scholarships are available within the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning. The scholarships operate with the Innovation in Applied Design Lab<http://sydney.edu.au/architecture/research/iad_lab/index.shtml>, and stems from the successful ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre project, "Advanced Manufacturing of Prefabricated Housing", which will begin in early 2016.
Scholarship is open to both domestic and International students, however tuition fees may apply for international applicants. Scholarship is valued at  $31,828.00 tax excempt for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months

University of Sydney and Woolcock Institute of Medical Research
PhD positions are available to support the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Alertness, Safety and Productivity. Research will provide support for the Sleep Disorders Phenotyping Platform, which will examine ways of improving diagnosis and treatment for insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Applications are open to domestic and international students. Funding is valued at $25,392p.a for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months. Please note that this scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by international students.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Physics
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available to work in Professor Robinson's Brain Dynamics Group on projects in the area of his Laureate Fellowship on the Physical Brain and/or research in the area of the Centre for Integrative Brain Function (CIBF), with wide collaborations across the University, Australia, and internationally. Applicant MUST international student and be able to commence by 15 February 2017. Scholarship will cover international tuition fees, Overseas Student Health Cover and proved stipend payment of $26,288p.a for up to 3 years with a possible extension of 6 months.

PhD Scholarships in Medicine (2)
Two full-time postgraduate scholarships are available for two suitably qualified candidates with a medical degree to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Medicine. The research projects topics are:
1)      Hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement
2)      Osteoarthritis biomarkers
Scholarship is open to both domestic and International students, however tuition fees may apply for international applicants. The scholarships are valued at $25,000 per annum (tax exempt) for 1 year

Postgraduate Scholarship in Regenerative Neuroscience
A scholarship is currently offered to undertake research in neuroscience. The project aims to study migration of skin-derived neural precursors, both in vitro and in vivo following hippocampal transplantation in aged rodents. Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. The scholarship is valued at $13,000p.a (tax exempt) funding is for 1 year with possible renewal.

Australian Biological Resources Study National Taxonomy Research Grant Program - Student Travel Grants
The ABRS Student Travel Grants offers financial support to postgraduate students studying at Australian institutions to travel to national or international conferences or workshops relevant to both the student's research programme in taxonomy or systematics and the ABRS Priority Areas for Research Grants<http://www.environment.gov.au/topics/science-and-research/australian-biological-resources-study/grants/priority-areas-research>.
Amounts of either $750 (GST exclusive) for domestic travel or $1,500 (GST exclusive) for international travel are available.
