Research Scholarships 

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Veterinary Immunology

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
veterinary immunology; the project looks at cattle and sheep immune
systems; applicants should have a good honours degree in Veterinary
Science; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Psychology and Neuroscience

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Psychology; the project is to investigate the neurobiological
specificity between depression and anxiety; applicants must have a good
Honours degree in psychology or neuroscience; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand
citizens; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Parkinson's Disease Research Clinic Nurse Postgraduate Scholarship

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a Master of
Philosophy (Nursing); the project aims to investigate the role of
treatments and key features of disease influencing neuropsychiatric
symptoms and quality of life in advanced Parkinson's disease and their
subsequent impact upon caregivers; applicants should have Honours 1 or
2A or a Masters degree; applicants must be registered or eligible to
practice nursing in Australia; $30,000pa; up to two years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Physiology and Hydrology of
Montane Eucalypt Forests in Eastern Australia

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage Projects grant and will
provide support for three years on a full-time basis for a research
project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research project is to
develop a process-based model of eucalypt forest hydrology that accounts
for changes in phenology after fire; applicants should have an Honours 1
or 2A degree in science, forestry or hydrology; applicants can be local
or international students, however the scholarship does not cover any
tuition fees payable by international students; $26,669pa; up to three
years.

PhD Scholarship in International Conflict

A full-time postgraduate scholarship commencing in Semester 2, 2010  is
available for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake research
leading to a PhD in international conflict; the project will investigate
the roles of norms, political culture, values, and/or similar factors in
patterns of interstate conflict across different regions of the world;
applicant should have a strong Honours degree, and/or master's
qualifications in political science or related field; applicants can be
local or international students, however the scholarship does not cover
any tuition fees payable by international students; $25,000pa; up to
three years.

School of Psychology PhD Completion Support Scholarships 2010

Applications are now open for a PhD Completion Scholarship for students
enrolled on a full-time basis in the School of Psychology who  are about
to enter their 8th semester of candidature, who intend to submit their
thesis by the end of their 8th semester (normally the August 2010 census
date), and who do not have any other financial award during this final
period of their candidature; valued at the APA equivalent; up to 6
months.

Gosford City Council 2010 Ecological Research Grants Program

Gosford City Council is offering grant funding to tertiary students or
suitably qualified individual/s and companies towards environmental
research projects relevant to the Gosford City Local Government Area
(LGA).

Overseas Scholarships 

 

Doctoral Fellowships in Economic Sociology and Political Economy

The International Max Planck Research School on the Social and
Politi-cal Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) offered jointly by
the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and the University
of Cologne in-vites suitable candidates to apply for the new doctoral
program; fellowships will start on October 1, 2010; valued at 1,100 EUR
per month.
