Postgraduate Scholarship in Bioleaching of Mineral Oxides and Wastes

This scholarship is for a research project leading to a PhD; the project
is designed to carry out comprehensive and in-depth study into
mechanisms involved in the bioleaching of minerals and wastes;
applicants should have an Honours 1 degree in Materials Science,
Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering; international students
can apply however the scholarship does not cover tuition fees payable by
international students; $20,000pa; up to three years. 

Closing Date:  28 August 2009

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Selective Metal Recovery from Bioleach
Solutions

This scholarship is for a research project leading to a PhD; the project
designed to carry out comprehensive and in-depth study into the recovery
of metals from bioleach solutions; applicants should have an Honours 1
degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical
Engineering; international students can apply however the scholarship
does not cover tuition fees payable by international students;
$20,000pa; up to three years. 

Closing Date:  28 August 2009

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Sound Practice: Supporting
Sustainable Careers in Orchestral Musicians through Occupational Health
and Safely Initiatives. 

Two scholarships are being offered for a research project leading to a
PhD; suitable applicants should have a background in medicine,
physiotherapy, psychology, or public health and have an interest and/or
experience in working in occupational health and injury surveillance,
and any background in music or working with musicians; three project
topics available; applicants must have a First Class Honours degree or
equivalent; local and international students can apply however the
scholarship does not cover tuition fees payable by international
students; $26,669pa; up to three years.

The Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Memorial Foundation Research
Scholarships

Applications are invited for Research Scholarships in
Otorhinolaryngology or the related fields of biomedical science to
commence in 2010; applicants must be enrolled for a higher university
degree; tenable in Australian or New Zealand institutions; $20,427-
$30,378pa; up to three years. 

Closing Date:  21 August 2009

 

PhD Scholarships in Interdisciplinary Sleep Health

The NHMRC Centre for Clinical Research Excellence for Interdisciplinary
Sleep Health is seeking initial expressions of interest for PhD
scholarships for research towards a higher degree in 2010; fields of
research will encompass a broad range of disciplines related to sleep
health; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent
residents, or New Zealand citizens. 

Closing Date:  31 July 2009

 

Overseas Scholarships

 

Deutscher Adademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) Research Grants for
Doctoral Candidates, Young Academics and Scientists

These research grants provide young foreign academics and scientists
with an opportunity to carry out a research project or a course of
continuing education and training at a German higher education
institution or non-university research institute for the purpose of
gaining a PhD;  requirements, award values and duration are available
online.
