NEWS ITEM: Research Funding Information Session- Heart Foundation. The
National Heart Foundation of Australia (NHF) will be conducting an
information session detailing awards currently on offer by the Heart
Foundation in clinical, biomedical or public health research. The
session will be invaluable for all researchers, particularly those
applying for the first time and will provide useful tips on what to do
to maximise your chances of receiving funding. To be held on Wednesday
22 October 2008 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, Architecture Lecture Theatre 1,
Wilkinson Building G04, Maze Crescent, Darlington Campus (Near Wentworth
Building). All those wishing to attend need to register on-line with the
Heart Foundation at: www.heartfoundation.org.au/information_sessions

 

 

RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Cotton Catchment Communities CRC Postgraduate Scholarships

The Cotton CRC is calling for applications for PhD and Masters by
Research projects; the CRC particularly seeks applications in the
following areas: development of biopesticides; mitigation of greenhouse
gases or adaptation of cotton farming to climate change; impact of
cotton harvesting on fibre quality; PhD projects are funded for up to 3
years at $26,000 pa; Masters projects for up to 2 years at $22,500 pa;
operating funds of $6,000 pa are also provided; stipends are only paid
to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents;
operating funds only may be paid for projects involving overseas
students.

Closing Date:  17 October 2008
