Research Scholarships 

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Chinese Medicinal Products in Diabetes

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good honours degree in pharmacy, science or
health science to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Pharmacy (Chinese Medicine); the project is to investigate the safety
and efficacy of selected Chinese medicines (TCM) in the prevention and
management of type 2 diabetes; particular emphasis will be placed on the
examination of the evidence base of Chinese medicine theory and studies
will be undertaken at a rigorous scientific level; $25, 872 pa; up to
three years subject to satisfactory progress; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Wireless Networking

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake Master by Research study in the areas
of wireless sensor networks, wireless mesh networks and large-scale
wireless multi-hop networks; applicants should have an Honours 1
undergraduate degree and be able to commence study in Semester 2, 2008
or Semester 1, 2009; $25,872 pa for one year; may be renewed for another
year; the school will provide a supplementary scholarship of ~$7,000 pa
on top of this scholarship

Postgraduate Scholarship in the Science of Horse Training: Implications
for Rider Safety and Animal Welfare 

This project brings together a multidisciplinary group to improve the
training of horses; applicants must have an honours degree in veterinary
science or animal science; be Australian or New Zealand residents or
citizens; international students can also apply but will be required to
cover their own university fees; $25,872 pa; up to three years.

Indigenous Health Research Postgraduate Scholarship (Environmental
Effects on Child Health)

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with postgraduate qualification in Clinical
Epidemiology to undertake research studies comprising a PhD in green
space urban indigenous children; applicant must have a Master of Science
in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) degree; must be an Australian
citizen; $32, 003 pa; for up to two years.

Dermatology Scholarship   

Available for a full time MPhil in the area of cell-cell interactions in
skin tumour progression; applicants should have an Honours degree in
Animal and Veterinary Biosciences from an Australian university (or
equivalent); be Australian citizens or permanent residents and
commencing an MPhil through the Faculty of Medicine in Semester 2, 2008;
$20,007 pa.

The Rosalie Strachan Award 2008

The Australasian Soil and Plant Analysis Council Inc. invites
applications for assistance up to $1500 to attend conferences or
meetings that aim to advance the understanding and application of soil
and plant analysis.
