Research Scholarships

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Proteomics of Embryo Development 

The project is to explore, using the latest proteomic and genomic techniques, the requirements for normal embryo survival and development.; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in a relevant biological or biomedical field; $25,627 pa; 3 yrs; must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Gateways to Justice 

This project is to examine the role of 'experts' within a 'virtual justice' environment,; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree or equvilaent in law, criminology or other relevant discipline; $25,627 pa; 3 yrs; must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Friedreich's Ataxia

Available for a PhD project on combined efficacy of anti-oxidants and Iron chelation as a potential treatment for Friedreich's Ataxia commencing S1, 2008; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree; $20,000 pa; up to 3yrs; must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Bone Biology

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available from the Bone Biology Program, ANZAC Research Institute, for a suitably qualified candidate with an H1 or 2A degree or equivalent, to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the research will be conducted at ANZAC Research Institute to study the effects of glucocorticoids on bone; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia or citizens of New Zealand; $25,365 pa; up to 3 years.

CCRE Postgraduate Medical Research Scholarships 

The scholarships are for medical graduates or graduates with science or other health-related degrees who are interested in doing post-graduate studies in clinical respiratory and sleep medicine with one of the CCRE investigators; preference will be given to candidates enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a PhD; the award will be issued on the terms and conditions of the NHMRC post-graduate research scholarship and the stipend will be equivalent; applicant musts be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen or an Australian resident.

Overseas Scholarships

 

The Rio Tinto NTRB Scholarships 
Available to lawyers currently working or interested in working at Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRBs) or Native Title Service Providers (NTSPs); covers all the expenses involved in undertaking a 1 year Master of Laws (LLM) in Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee, Scotland; open to Australian citizens or permanent residents and reside in Australia with a law degree; applications open on 18/2/08.
