Fulbright Scholarships Seminar

A seminar on Fulbright Scholarships for study or research in the US in
2008 will be held from 11am-12pm on Thursday, 19 April 2007 in Carslaw

RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS: Neuronal Cell Biology, Anatomy and Histology,
Advanced Collaboration Technology, Motor Neuron Disease, Flood Tide
Delta Morphodynamics and Modelling, Allied Health Sciences, Clinical,
Biomedical and Health Related Sciences.

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Neuronal Cell Biology

For a suitably qualified candidate with a H1 or 2A degree in Science;
for research leading to a PhD; the project involves using neuronal cell
culture models to determine how crucial signaling to the microtubule and
actin cytoskeleton occurs during the establishment of neuronal
circuitry; up to 3 years; $19,616 pa - $25,000 pa; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens

Postgraduate Scholarship in Anatomy and Histology

For a suitably qualified candidate with a H1 degree or equivalent in
science to undertake research studies leading to a PhD stemming vision
loss with stem cells; $15,000 pa; up to 1 year with the possibility of
extension; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of
Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Advanced Collaboration Technology

For a suitably qualified candidate with a good hons degree in Computer
Science or Information Technologies to undertake research studies
leading to a Master of Science by research; the project is to
investigate a new framework to support scalable service oriented remote
collaboration;$18,000 pa; up to 1 year with the possibility of
extension.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on flood tide delta
morphodynamics and modelling  

For a research project leading to a PhD; the project will investigate
wave-tide processes and sediment transport paths within a flood tide
delta-beach system and use numerical models to describe the
hydrodynamics, sediment transport and beach response over a range of
wave, tide and sea level scenarios; applicants should have an H1 or 2A
degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Oceanography, Geosciences,
IT/Computer Science, Meteorology or equivalent;  applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or NZ citizens;
$25,118 pa; up to 3 years.

PhD Scholarship Investigating Motor Neuron Disease 

Provided by the Australian Rotary Health Research Fund; to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD investigating motor neuron disease;
$25,000 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be eligible to begin a PhD
program or be in the 1st or 2nd years of a PhD program at a University
or research institute in Australia.

Menzies Foundation Allied Health Sciences Scholarships

Up to 3 scholarships are available; the purpose of the scholarship is to
try to improve the health of Australians by supporting an outstanding
applicant from one of the non-medical allied health disciplines whose
research is likely to fall outside the conventional areas of medical
research; $25,000 pa; open to persons who will be full-time students in
a research PhD program which is likely to be completed during the 2 year
tenure of the scholarship.

Wenkart Foundation Grants 2007

For research in clinical, biomedical and health related sciences; level
of funding will depend on the expenses of the project; up to 2 years;
applicants must be Australian permanent residents or undergraduates
educated in Australia and intending to reside in Australia.
