Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Electron Microscopy
Open to candidates with a good Hons or Masters degree in science or 
engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in electron 
microscopy; the project involves using electron microscopy methods to map 
the structure, chemistry, bonding and electronic structure at the atomic 
scale; $23,886 pa; up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Phase Imaging
Available to support for a full-time research project leading to a PhD; 
applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A or Masters degree in science or 
engineering; the project will improve and apply an innovative approach to 
obtaining phase information from electron microscopy images. $23,886 pa; 3 
years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent 
residents or New Zealand citizens.

Leukaemia Foundation of Victoria Research Grants
Available to provide financial support to appropriately qualified 
individuals of all involved disciplines (nursing/medical/allied health/ 
psychological/scientific) or groups conducting clinical or translational 
research specific to leukaemia, lymphona, myeloma and related blood 
disorders; PhD/research students can apply if they believe their research 
project is applicable; $20,000 - $100,000; for 12 months.

Adrian Beech Travel Study Award 2004
Available for attending conferences or meeting that aim to advance the 
understanding and application of soil and plant analysis; travel requests 
must not already be covered by the plant nutrition trust; the amount of the 
award is at the discretion of the ASPAC Executive and is usually around 
$1,000 to $1,500.
