Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Development of New PET 
Agents for Medical Imaging
Open to a full-time research project leading to a PhD; the  project is to 
develop novel positron emission tomography (PET) ligands to selectively 
image neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the brain; applicants 
should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in chemistry or pharmacology; $23,886 
pa; 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent 
residents or NZ citizens.

Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) in Children Walk Well
Open to a full-time research project leading to a PhD; the project is to 
examine the factors contributing to consumer decision-making about footwear 
choice, consumer knowledge about the impact of children's footwear and to 
assess patterns of footwear usage among Australian children aged 4 to 12 
years; applicants must have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in an appropriate field 
of study; $23,886 pa; 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, 
Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Pure Mathematics
Open to candidate with a good Hons degree in mathematics to undertake 
research studies leading to a PhD in pure mathematics; the project is to 
investigate the application of categorical and K-theoretic methods to 
algebraic groups and their representation theory, in particular to 
generalisations of Jacobson-Morozov theory; $18,484 pa; up to 18 months.

Millennium Foundation Initiating Grantsand Stipend Enhancement Grants
Initiating Grants - To support  1st or 2nd year of post-graduate research; 
at NHMRC stipend rate for medical and non-medical research students; 1 
year; applicants must be Australian citizens/permanent residents.
Stipend Enhancement Grants  Open to candidates who are successful in 
attracting external stipend awards or scholarships; if the award is less 
than the value of the Initiating Grant, funds will be provided to enhance a 
scholarship near to the value of the Initiating Grant; for students at 
Westmead Hospital and the Westmead Millennium Institute and new applicants 
ONLY.
