Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Metal-Based Anti-inflammatory
Drugs
Available to support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research 
project leading to a PhD; the research is to develop new metal-based 
anti-inflammatory drugs for use in veterinary applications, particularly 
for the treatment of inflammatory conditions in horses and dogs; applicants 
should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in chemistry or a related discipline; 
$23,886 pa; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent 
residents, or New Zealand citizens.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Marine Robotics

project leading to a PhD; the project is to develop algorithms and methods 
capable of modelling unstructured, reef environments using data collected 
by an autonomous robotic system capable of surveying the Great Barrier 
Reef; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in chemistry or a 
related discipline; $23,886 pa; applicants must be Australian citizens, 
Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens.

Open to Uni graduates with excellent Mandarin language abilities and some 
work experience who wish to pursue a career in 
Australia-China/Australia-Taiwan commercial relations; up to 1 year of 
study and work, commencing with a 4-week language refresher course, 
followed by 6 months of business studies in Beijing or Taipei

Alice Tay Memorial Award (in the Area of Human Rights) – to promote 
understanding of human rights in China; $15,000.
Residencies – Available in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei; 1-3 
months during the period Nov 04 to Oct 05; for accommodation and include 
some assistance with orientation and in establishing contacts; residents 
cover their own airfares, living expenses, travel arrangements including 
obtaining visas and travel insurance.
