Research Training 2004

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Microreaction Engineering
Available for a research project leading to a PhD in Chemical Engineering; 
the research is to develop new chemical processing techniques employing 
microreactors; applicants must have a Hons 1 or Hons 2 Div 1 in Chemical or 
Mechanical Engineering or in Physical Chemistry or equivalent experience; 
successful applicant must be available to commence studies in the 1st 
quarter of 2004; $30,000 pa; 3 years; applicants must be Australian 
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Structural Engineering 
(Cold-Formed Steel Structures)
Available for a research project leading to a PhD; the project is to 
undertake research into the structural behaviour of innovative cold-formed 
steel members subject in collaboration with others on an industry project; 
applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A, or suitable Masters degree in civil 
engineering; $23,886 pa; 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, 
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

NHMRC Travelling Award for Research Training 2004
Available to all current holders of NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarships; 
applicants cannot hold the award in the 1st 6 months of their fellowship or 
scholarship; may apply for the award in the 2nd 6 months of their 
fellowship or scholarship; $5,000 for 3 months, up to $10,000 for 6 months 
+ airfare allowance up to $2,500 for a Travelling Award held overseas; a 
living allowance of $3,000 for 3 months, up to $6,000 for 6 months + an 
airfare allowance up to $1000 for a Travelling Award held in Australia; 
awardees must take up the award no later than 20/6/04.
