Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Breaking the Juvenile Crime 
Cycle: Rehabilitating High Risk Young Offenders
Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD, 
applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree or equivalent in an 
appropriate discipline; experience working in the public health area is 
essential; experience of survey design and implementation and knowledge of 
univariate and multivariate statistical methods would be an advantage; 
excellent oral and written communication skills, an excellent undergraduate 
record of achievement, and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary 
team; 3 years @$23,294; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent 
residents who have lived continuously in Australia for the past 12 months.

Commonwealth Allied Health Rural and Remote Scholarships (CSHRRS): 
Postgraduate Scheme
Open to allied health professionals who work in rural and remote 
communities for scholarships to assist continuing professional education; 
granted for a range of activities including clinical placements, short 
courses, postgraduate tertiary courses and attendance at professional 
conferences.

Cross Cultural Public Health Award
Open to candidate for the degrees of Master (by research) or Doctor in the 
School of Public Health who is undertaking full and part-time research on 
public health issues affecting Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islanders or 
refugees/recently arrived migrants; based on academic merit/research 
potential and financial need; 1 year @ $3,500; a report must be submitted 
to the Chair of the School Research Committee within 12 months of the award 
being granted.

Eleanor Mary Hinder Bursary 2004
Open to woman graduate to undertake a specific project in South East Asia; 
applicants must hold a degree from a recognised university and be a 
financial member of AFUW Inc.; applicants must submit a detailed outline of 
the project, budget and a report to AFUW Inc. on completion of the project; 
$4,000.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) MA Dissertation Award 
2003
Available for the MA dissertation in English which makes the most 
significant contribution to the field of language testing; theses will only 
be considered eligible if they were submitted and approved by the 
applicant’s university in 2002; submissions should be for theses written in 
partial or total fulfilment of the requirements for an MA degree or its 
equivalent; £1000.
