PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Australia PhD Full Time Scholarship in
Transport Economics & Finance
Open to candidates with a strong academic record in areas such as
economics, commerce, finance and econometrics to undertake a PhD in
Transport Economics and Finance; applicants are likely to have a particular
interest in the rail, road, ports, airports or logistics sectors; 3 years @
20,000 pa, may be renewed for a further year; successful applicant will
also receive: access to PwC resources, support from PwC Partners and senior
staff to facilitate completion of the PhD, extra experience and extra
income by working part time (with permission).

Whiteley Industries Postgraduate Scholarship in Biofilm Control on Surgical
Instruments
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in science or a related field
to undertake research studies leading to a MSc or a PhD in medicine;
applicants should have a particular interest in infection control; 2 years
@ $17,000 pa, possibility of 12 months extension for PhD student;
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Short-term Postgraduate Scholarship in Child Clinical Psychology
Open to candidate in clinical psychology to undertake research that will
contribute to their doctoral research; applicants should have completed
their postgraduate training in clinical psychology and be currently
enrolled (or accepted for enrolment) in a PhD; candidates should be
registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and must have
experience in working with children with anxiety disorders and aggressive
behaviours; available from February to December 2003 @ $18,009 pa.

PhD Scholarship in Rheumatology Department, Westmead Hospital
Open to Science/Medical graduates for a laboratory based PhD in the
Department of Rheumatology at Westmead Hospital; the project is to study
the action of, and develop new peptides that are able to influence the
function of, Natural Killer cells; previous research experience in cellular
immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology or peptide chemistry would be
an advantage; $18,000 - $26,700 pa according to NHMRC rates.

Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) in Managing Contaminant
Metals in Complex Hydrometallurgical Processes
Open to applicants to undertake full-time postgraduate study in Chemical
Engineering leading to a Masters Degree in Engineering by Research;
applicants should have an Honours degree (HI or HII.1) in Chemical
Engineering, Mathematical or Physical Sciences, or equivalent experience,
excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a
collaborative research team environment is desirable; 2 years @$23,294 pa;
for exceptional applicants, further funding for Doctoral study will be
considered; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents
who have lived continuously in Australia for the past 12 months.
