PhD Scholarship in Synapse Formation
Open to candidate with a good honours degree to undertake research leading 
to PhD in Physiology; the project will use latest techniques such as yeast 
two-hybrid analysis and mass spectrometry to identify proteins involved in 
organising postsynaptic neurotransmitter receptors at neuromuscular 
synapses; $24,000 pa for up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Electron Microscopy
Open to suitably qualified candidates with a good honours or Masters degree 
in science or engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in 
electron microscopy; this project would suit students who have an interest 
in any of the following areas: solid-state physics, nanomaterials, optical 
properties, quantum well systems, advanced instrumentation, microscopy and 
microanalysis and data processing; $23,294 pa and may be renew for up to 3 
years.

Australian Postgraduate Award  Industry (APAI) on Broadband Antenna Technology
Open to candidates undertaking full-time research leading to a Ph; 
applicants should have an Honours degree (HI or HII.1) in physics, 
electrical engineering or a related field; some background in antenna 
design would be an advantage. 3 years @ $23,294 pa; applicants must be 
Australian citizens or permanent residents who have lived continuously in 
Australia for the past 12 months.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships in the Discipline of Economics
Open to a full-time candidate who will enrol in the PhD program in the 
discipline in 2003 as a new international student; the eligibility 
criteria, tenure and benefits are similar to that of the Australian 
Development Bank (ADB) award; application for the scholarships is automatic 
upon application for an ADB through The University of Sydney International 
Office; international students who have not already applied for an ADB 
scholarship through the University of Sydney International Office will also 
be considered.

Henry Bertie and Florence Mabel Gritton Research Scholarships  in Chemistry 
related to Industry and Agriculture
Open to graduands or graduates of universities who are members of the 
Association of Commonwealth Universities, graduands or graduates of any 
country who are citizens of a Commonwealth country or Australian permanent 
residents; for a higher degree by research; 2 categories: Postgraduate 
Scholarships - $17,609 in 2002, and Gritton University Medallist Award: 
value to be determined by the selection committee.

Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation 9th Foreigners' Fellowship 
Programme  Educational Scholarships
Available to postgraduate research candidates in the academic year Oct 2003 
Sept 2004; the scholarships are offered for research in Greece only; 
applicants must be age below 40; non Greek descent; persons of Greek 
descent (second generation and on) are eligible, provided they are 
permanently residing and working or currently studying in universities 
outside Greece; applicants should be enrolled at a university either 
outside Greece or in Greece at the time of application; from 5 up to 10 
months (except July and August); covers a round trip air ticket; 
accommodation, allowance of $600 Euro/month.
