[SydPhil] Casual Teaching Position: UNSW Online course in AI Ethics

This is a casual position for a subject-matter expert to co-develop and convene a 6-week course in AI ethics, as part of a Masters’-level program in AI Leadership and Strategy. Candidates are expected to have, or be close to having, a PhD level qualification in philosophy or related area.
UNSW Online courses are offered in asynchronous mode. Course content will be developed in 2026 for first delivery in March-April 2027 (Hexamester 2). The course will be offered again in June-July 2027 (Hexamester 4) and annually after that.
Duties:
- During the second half of 2026, you will assist in the design and
development of the course material (~21hrs).
- When the course is delivered in 2027, you will be expected to hold a
weekly webinar session, manage student discussions and assessment
submissions, and do all the marking (~90hrs combined, based on current
projections).
Compensation will depend on actual hours worked. Based on current enrolment
projections, it is estimated at approximately $18,203 at PhD holder rates
($15,093 for non-PhD holders).
