Dear colleagues, I would like to alert you to this open position:

Professor Mark Alfano has been awarded an ARC Future Fellowship that
commences in 2026. The School of Humanities at Macquarie University is
seeking to employ a Lecturer to support the research program associated
with the fellowship and to cover his teaching for four years. The role
follows a 60 to 40 research and teaching split. The position is a 1.0 FTE
Level B step one position, 123,435.00 AUD Annual, plus 17% employer
superannuation contribution.

The position holder will contribute to research and teaching within the
discipline of Philosophy in the School of Humanities. The research duties
include data collection, data analysis, agent based modelling of social
epistemic networks, and the writing of research articles that form part of
the fellowship program. The teaching duties involve co-teaching in
discipline units. Likely areas of contribution include epistemology,
philosophy of language, political philosophy, critical thinking, and
ethics. The role calls for a candidate who is versatile and adaptable. The
contract will be for four years at Level B step one, with the earliest
possible start date in April 2026.

The discipline of philosophy sits in the school of Humanities in the
Faculty of Arts and is one of the most successful philosophy programmes in
the country. With sixteen continuing staff members and a large contingent
of HDR and postdoctoral researchers, the discipline is a thriving research
and teaching community.

Essential criteria:

PhD in philosophy
A strong record of research publications
