The Australian Centre for Health Engagement, Evidence and Values warmly
invites you to But Why is That Better? A seminar which explores how applied
philosophy and ethics can contribute to efforts to improve healthcare.
When: 11am Tuesday 8 october
Where: Building 21 Room G08 or Online

In this seminar, Professor Vikki Entwistle (University of Aberdeen) will
focus on the value judgements, such as safety, effectiveness,
person-centeredness, efficiency, and equity, which are often embedded in
claims about healthcare quality. Professor Entwistle will examine how these
concepts are frequently narrowed in quality improvement initiatives, and
will explore the importance of maintaining space for broader, more
open-ended ideas about what constitutes good healthcare, including
perspectives from diverse viewpoints.
