The role
* Full time, Fixed term (up to 2 years)
* Level A - $94,909 to $101,795 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)
* Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst or Wagga Wagga
Seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on the Australian Research Council funded project, The Ethics of Voluntary Assisted Dying: Promoting Constructive Debate.
You will work under the supervision of the Professor of Philosophy and Ethics to analyse key philosophical and ethical arguments that underpin debates about Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) including disputes about whether people who are choosing VAD are always choosing for their own reasons and are not coerced into accepting VAD, whether there can be ‘death with dignity’, and whether and when healthcare professionals should be allowed to refuse to provide VAD.
About you
* Hold a PhD in Bioethics, Philosophy, Applied Ethics or related discipline, or be near to completion of a PhD.
* Ability to work as part of a research team and undertake research which leads to high-quality and impactful academic publication.
* High level interpersonal communications skills, including influencing, negotiating and presenting.
