*Types of logic and their application for the studies of biological and
social evolution*

*Anton Sukhoverkhov*

When: Tues Aug 21, 1-2 pm

Where: Blackshield Room

Abstract:

This talk presents and compares four types of logic: formal, dialectic,
fuzzy and ‘Eastern’ non-duality logic. Their application for current
debates in studies of evolution is considered. Classical logical paradoxes
(Ship of Theseus, Liar's Paradox, Sorites Paradox) are also revised and
re-exemplified in the light of the evolutionary and social studies. The
talk also considers the problem of fuzzy sets and the possibility to apply
different types of logic for decision-making and in nature and
society.
