The philosophy of music reading and study group meets at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in seminar room 2164 on selected dates to discuss questions and topics in the philosophy of music.

The group is convened by Goetz Richter (goetz.richter at sydney.edu.au)

All are welcome.


In semester 1 2018 we will discuss Michael Gallope, Deep Refrains: Music, Philosophy and the Ineffable. University of Chicago Press, 2017


Introduction and Prelude on May 30 6-7.30 pm and

Chapter 2 (Adorno) on June 13 6-7.30 pm


Further meeting dates in semester 2 will be advised.

The book is available as an e book through the University of Sydney library.
