CONFERENCE: Social Imaginaries: Dominance and Resistance

WHEN: Friday July 22, 2016   9am - 5pm.
WHERE: The Justice and Police Museum, Corner Albert and Phillip Streets, Circular Quay, Sydney.

The influence of the imagination, embodiment, and context is now widely recognized in ethical, social and political philosophy. In these fields philosophers have explored how dominant social imaginaries can adversely affect individuals and social groups in interpersonal and institutional settings. This conference will explore the power and influence of the imagination as well as our capacity to transform damaging imaginaries.
