A Memory, Music, Performance Day will be held at Macquarie University from
10-5.30 on Wednesday, November 26.
This interdisciplinary day of informal talks and discussions aims to bring
together researchers interested in music and memory, cognition and
performance from across the Macquarie campus and beyond. In particular, we
hope to discuss the roles of different forms and activities of remembering
in music practices, and to put cognitive theory and phenomenology in touch
with the study of performance cultures. A draft program for the day is
attached to this email.
There is no cost for the day but please RSVP to
andrew.geeves at mq.edu.au by Friday
21/11 for catering purposes (and with any dietary requirements).
Please note that the day will be held in two different locations: E3A 224
for morning sessions (http://myatlascms.com/map/?id=61&mrkIid=28605) and
the CCD Seminar Room, Australian Hearing Hub, Level 3, Room 610 (
http://myatlascms.com/map/?id=61&mrkIid=48222) for afternoon sessions.
We also invite you to circulate this invitation to colleagues and HDR
students who might be interested. As long as they RSVP by Friday 21/11 we
will be able to cater for them as audience members.
