This is a reminder for:

Title: Peter Bowden
The Teaching of whistleblowing

Peter Bowden will present a case that that the teaching of whistleblowing
is a near- obligatory demand on those responsible for applied ethics
courses in our universities and in the workplace . The empirical evidence
is incontrovertible that blowing the whistle wrongdoing is, despite its
many problems, effective in stopping illegitimate activities. Overcoming a
widespread negative or at best indifferent attitude in ethicists and moral
philosophers is necessessary if students are to learn how to use the ever
expanding systems of whistleblower protections safely and successfully. The
talk will be based on his recent book "In the Public Interest"
http://www.tilde.com.au/product/in-the-public-interest-protecting-whistleblowers-and-those-who-speak-out/

Why Australian systems are not up to international standards and the need
for additional research will be a second part of the talk.
