Attitudes and Duals

Abstract:

Epistemic operators such as K, which encode propositional attitudes such as  
knowledge, may be dualised along with any other modality. The duality claim  
is the claim that the attitudes of knowledge and considers possible are  
duals. We will see that the duality claim is vulnerable to some fatal  
counterexamples in both single and multi--agent epistemic logic contexts,  
and in both implicit and explicit knowledge formulations. We then propose  
necessary and sufficient conditions for the considers possible attitude for  
both soft and hard informational contexts which avoid the counterexamples.
