The Workgroup on Recognition in Sydney returns from a break Saturday this week, August 9, 11am-2pm at the Duck Inn Pub (74 Rose St, Chippendale).

We will continue with the theme of 'social pathology', 'pathology', and 'life', moving now towards debates on biopolitics. This week we will discuss Michel Foucault's text 'The Birth of Social Medicine' http://lchc.ucsd.edu/cogn_150/Readings/foucault/social_medicine/foucault_birth.pdf

Anyone interested in theories of recognition, in critical social philosophy more generally, or in biopolitics more in particular (both students and staff) are warmly welcome. If you know anyone else who might be interested, feel free to pass on the information.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
