"Whereof We Cannot Speak"
A Public Lecture by
Timothy Chappell
Professor of Philosophy and Director of The Open University Ethics
Centre in the United Kingdom.
7.30 - 9 pm on Friday 5th October 2012 in the Ryan Auditorium at
Catholic Institute of Sydney, 99 Albert Rd, Strathfield NSW 2135.
Professor Chappell's current research is in ethics and the question,
'What makes a good decision?' In this lecture, he takes exception to
the early claim by Wittgenstein that one must either use precise logical
descriptions or remain silent. There are good reasons, he argues, to
accept other modes of expression.
This lecture will the be inaugural event of the Ninth Biennial
Conference in Philosophy Religion and Culture. It is free.
