Located in the unique environment of Quebec City, Laval University is an outstanding university known for its culture of excellence in teaching and research.

Through the creation of the Direction of Education and Professional Development, Laval University's Faculty of Medicine in 2010, allowed regrouping the education services it offers to its educational network. The mission of this Direction is to develop, promote and support health sciences education. Composed of five sectors : education development, research, evaluation, simulation and continuing professional development, it aims to become a reference in health sciences education. The VDPDPC also includes graduate programs related to its expertise, such as a graduate microprogram in health sciences education, and other programs currently in development (major in health education and knowledge transfer, and a Master's degree in health sciences education). The VDPDPC team already includes five researchers in the fields of health education, communication and knowledge transfer.

The VDPDPC and the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine are looking for a researcher with proven expertise in the field of university health sciences education research.

The ideal candidate has the leadership skills needed to promote research in university health sciences education, as well as develop and lead an internationally renowned research program. He or she will contribute to building and strengthening Laval University's culture of health research in health sciences education.
