INVITATION

When: Thursday, 12th of May, 6.00 pm
Where: Macleay Museum,

Book:
FATHERS FROM THE EDGE:
Greek-Australian reflections on fathers

Edited by Helen Nickas
(Owl Publishing, Melbourne 2015)

The book will be launched by writer Anna Couani

In this anthology 24 Greek-Australian authors from Victoria, NSW and W.A. participate with a story about their fathers. It is a well-known fact that father-child relationships can be testing at the best of times, but when you add the migrant experience into the mix, then matters get complicated.
Some of the Sydney writers who are included in this book will be present to read an extract from their story relating how their bitter-sweet experience as migrant sons and daughters has shaped their lives in Australia.
As literature is another form of history, the stories in this anthology contribute towards a better understanding of Australia as a country of many waves of migration.

Authors from New South Wales included in the anthology are:
George Alexander, Claire Catacouzinos, Anna Couani,
Eleni Elefterias-Kostakidis, Zeny Giles, Efi Hatzimanolis,
Vrasidas Karalis and Martha Mylona

Note: Fathers from the Edge is a companion book to
Mothers from the Edge (about mothers and daughters).
Both books will be available at the launch.

ALL WELCOME
