Hi Folks,

If you are using your social distancing to catch up on some background reading there are a brace of webinars available from Bruker (see below). While we don’t have a TIMS-ToF, the technology is not so dissimilar from what is on the Synapt 2G Si or the FAIMS system we currently have on the new Eclipse and will be adding to the Exploris later this week.

A third FAIMS system arriving later this year which could be fitted to either of the TSQ Altis instruments if any of you want to try your hand a targeted metabolomics/lipidomics coupled with ion mobility. Lastly don’t forget the Fusion is available if people would like to set up a Thermo IDX style platform.

Lastly, just a reminder the SydneyMS labs are still very much open for business for experienced users, but please note:

1. New user inductions and face-to-face user training is currently suspended

2. You must have had a COVID-19 request approved prior starting a project

3. Decontaminating a mass spec lab is extremely hard to do so, please: avoid unnecessary trips to the lab, wash your hands before entering, if you feel unwell - stay away!

All the best,

Ben
