[Limdep Nlogit List] Calculating marginal effects for Latent Class Ordered Probit

We're running into an error with NLOGIT when attempting to estimate marginal effects with a LC Ordered Probit Model. The error message that appears is:

'RP cannot compute ME for ORDERED when J > 9..'

The marginal effects compute if we reduce the total number of variables in the model to 9 or less, which seems very arbitrary. Is there some technical reason for this and/or a workaround?
