[Limdep Nlogit List] Reading Excel data file

Colleagues: LIMDEP/NLOGIT cannot directly read a version 2007 .xlsx
file. Worse, Excel 2007 creates a garbage filled filled file that
limdep is also unable to read when you try to create a Version 2003
spreadsheet file with Save As... The work around is to save the file
as a .csv file, then, if need be, manually alter the line of names at
the top so that it contains lines with 80 or fewer characters. Then,
read the file as an ascci date file, with ;NAMES=n in the command,
where n is the number of names lines you created. A more robust solution,
at least for now, is a current copy of Stat Transfer, which can translate
.xlsx to .lpj.
Regards,
/Bill Greene

I experienced that some months ago. Open the 2003 excel file and scroll
down. Some where in the middle of the file you will see some empty
rolls. Block the rolls, delete and then save.
