Dear colleagues,
We are looking for candidates for two 1.5-year long research positions, for
the project "Seismic anisotropy in the Earth's Mantle AcRoss Scales:
insights from coupled large-scale and micro-dynamic numerical simulations
(EMARS)".
The overarching aim of this project is to incorporate rock rheology into
mantle flow interpretation by developing a new approach that will couple
micro- and large-scale geodynamic numerical simulations. This will allow
improving predictions of mantle seismic anisotropy in a complete range of
physical conditions.
The positions will be based at the research institute Geosciences Barcelona
(GEO3BCN) of the CSIC (Spanish Research Council).
The first position will focus on large-scale geodynamic modelling and the
second one on microdynamic simulation (including dynamic recrystallisation
and seismic wave propagation).
Ideally the positions require to carry out research at the postdoc level.
However, we are flexible and can also consider candidates who do not
currently hold a PhD degree.
Prospective candidates should contact Maria-Gema Llorens (
mgllorens at geo3bcn.csic.es) for more details.
